Nippon Tigers had a head-start to their cricket journey by beating Indian Engineers in the Tokyo Blitz Tournament in their very first match. This 6-overs tournament is organized by the Tokyo Cricket Association, the first white leather ball tournament in Japan.
Nippon Tigers riotously celebrated the Indian Engineer’s single that sealed a vital 8 runs win for Nippon Tigers.
After losing the toss Nippon tigers were put in batting first. Nippon tigers managed to score 60 runs in six overs . Thanks to Gaurav for his outstanding 29 of 23 balls. Saki supported him well with 11 of 14 balls.
In reply, Indian Engineers managed just 52 runs in six overs for the loss of three wickets. Riaz was the top bowler for Nippon Tigers with two wickets in just one over.
The captain of Nippon tigers for this tournament was Saki and he said
“I am very happy to lead this young and energetic tournament and am looking forward to next matches”.
A real team performance by the Nippon tigers and hopefully they will maintain their team spirit in the coming matches.
